Statistics Norway has collected figures on how many people have used different cultural institutions in the last 12 months, and the figures are from 2016, 2021 and 2023. We can see from the numbers that all visits declined during the pandemic. Concerts, theatres/musicals and cinemas had the largest decline. The figures from 2023 show that the vast majority are back to where they were in 2016. As the only institution, museums have seen a slight upturn. Theatre/Musical and Art Exhibition has the biggest difference between 2016 and 2023, and has lost the most visitors during this period.
